There are plenty of sales tips out there these days that promise to make your closing full proof. Strategies to help no matter the road block. But making the sale, closing the deal to reach your next goal does not have to be complicated. There are plenty of complex things in this world, sales does not need to be one of them. Making the sale can often feel like walking a tightrope, too much force and you lose the sale, too little and the pieces begin to slip.
But the art of a sale is not just saying your lines and getting the client to sign the dotted line, it’s about connecting with your potential customers and having a strategy that shows your value. It’s about acknowledging the data over your feelings. And most importantly it’s remembering the confidence you have in yourself.
Struggling coaches feel pushy because they’ve ingrained this type of thought into their mindset.
The difference between a successful coach and one that is struggling is they go in knowing why they are there and with the confidence to pitch the sale even if failure is a possibility.
Successful coaches are making those consistent sales because they know they are providing a service that the client desires.
That’s not pushy. That’s helping people.
It’s important to remember that without making the sale your business cannot make the impact you intend it to. You have a business in which you believe in, an impact which you know you can make. So you’re not pushy, you’re assertive in your product and how it can help this client and all clients.
Failing to make one sale or even a couple, does not mean you have failed completely, it just means you must rethink your approach to make it stronger.
At the end of the day the most important thing is to not let failure keep you from moving forward and reaching your goals.
The real tips to improve sales are not just about the pitch but the mindset:
-Be coachable aka adaptable
-Don’t let failure stop you from moving forward: believe in yourself
-Refer to the data not your feelings aka remember who you are selling to and what they are looking for
The best sales tip to always remember, as stated above, is to not allow your feelings to guide you, look at the data!
Data can be your best friend and point you to where tweaks need to be made and where you are succeeding.
When you go off your feelings that perhaps the pitch or the ad isn’t working it often comes from a place of fear, a place of self doubt.
Referring to the data however is your way of knowing what is actually working and what is your brain trying to over complicate things with those pesky feelings.
And it truly is as simple as that.
Sales does not need to be complicated and you can make that next $1000, $10,000, $100,000 tomorrow if you remember that you are selling a needed service to someone who wants it, who desires your product. That’s not being pushy. That is you providing for someone and making the impact you set out to make.
So make those calls, keep practicing, keep tweaking, and keep referring to the data.
